Concord & Lexington, MA Periodontist Patient Information

Your first appointment at Concord Lexington Periodontics will be about getting to know each other. We will discuss your goals and what brought you to our practice, learn about your medical history, and talk to you about your treatment options. You will be given a clinical evaluation as well.

If you seek routine dental services, treatment can sometimes be performed on the same day as the consultation. For more complex services, or if you have issues in your medical history that need to be considered, we will schedule a second appointment with you for treatment.

At that appointment, we’ll thoroughly review our findings and present a detailed dental treatment plan that makes sense to you and fulfills your dental health needs and esthetic goals.

Oral Cancer Screening

We diagnose and treat mouth diseases such as cysts, tumors, and precancerous and cancerous lesions using oral pathology. Many patients experience unusual changes in the mouth, teeth, gums, tongue, or throat that may be caused by disease. Diagnosing diseases in the mouth as early as possible is very important. The earlier a disease is diagnosed, treatment and healing can begin faster.

What can I expect during the exam?

Your doctor may perform several tests or exams to determine what is causing the symptoms you are experiencing and diagnose the disease. Usually, biopsy or tissue removal is the best diagnosis method, as we send the sample to a laboratory for analysis.

What are my treatment options?

Treatments vary depending on the type of disease. We will address each patient’s needs case-by-case to achieve the best results. Our office is dedicated to making any procedure performed as comfortable as possible.
